Gwen Madoc's novels depict the lives of feisty young women struggling in a man's world to find a decent life and true love in the face of poverty and deprevation.
The eras of Gwen's books are late 19th century to early 20th century. Woman's lives ere changing in the years between the two great world wars. It was difficult for any young woman to keep herself respectable and earn a decent living. Gwen's stories are of these courageous young women who strive against obstacles such as poverty, exploitation and prejudice, and who triumph in the end, often finding love in the process.
